Jazz's Early Evolution submitted by Meginator on July 14, 2019, 6:47pm This album bears witness to the gradual metamorphosis of jazz from the Big Band Era to the more open-ended styles that developed in the mid-20th century, and Dizzy Gillespie can do it all. The ensembles are perfectly in sync, the solos are amazing, and you can hear the music evolving from track to track. It’s a great introduction to early jazz.
