COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Eighteen Essential Songs submitted by ccrose on August 28, 2019, 11:37pm Janis Joplin sang differently than any white woman singer I ever heard. She sang as if she was desperate, pouring out songs that would be classified as blues but without the blues musical structure. She performed with the most flamboyantly pitiable style, as if her heart was breaking at that very minute. Nothing about her, her appearance, her wild unstyled hair, her voice raspy from cigarettes looked like she gave a care about anything but singing the blues.
