COMMUNITY REVIEWS

A Genuine Masterpiece submitted by GJBarnett2 on June 27, 2021, 12:15pm Well-worth watching for the biography and review of Michelangelo's achievements in the first 13 minutes alone. And the Story! And the characters! And the character development! And the Scenery! And Cinematography! And for all this only 5 Oscar nominations, all for technical categories, and no wins. And no nominations for best film, director, actor, or supporting actor. Even though Charlton Heston had won the Oscar for Best Actor in 1960 and had a raft of other awards and nominations, American and international, and even though Rex Harrison was nominated for the Oscar and the Golden Globe and the Laurel Award for Best Actor in 1963, and won them all in 1964, and was again nominated for the Golden Globe and the Laurel Award for this performance, neither one even got an Oscar nomination in 1965. This film is a largely overlooked Gem!
