COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Classic 60s Jams and One Heck of a Drum Solo submitted by Meginator on June 18, 2023, 12:31pm This is an enjoyable, consistent album of thoughtful mid-60s rock that doesn’t push against too many boundaries but still manages to create its own distinct sound. The guitar is usually the focal point, but “Toad” offers a lengthy Ginger Baker drum solo that demonstrates a variety of techniques while remaining utterly captivating from beginning to end; if your attention drifts off during the album’s middle section, this track makes you sit up and pay attention. Relatively simple and straightforward, the music gets the job done and fits nicely in the gap between the optimistic pop of the mid-60s and the nascent classic rock scene, with just a hint of psychedelia around some of the edges.
