Miranda July submitted by jibkidder on July 28, 2022, 9:56am N+1 / Baffler film critic AS Hamrah loves "Kajillionaire", her 3rd movie, which I don't care for, but he thinks it is a powerful critique of USA's gerontocracy. I'm more interested in the gap between this, her first film, and "The Future", her second, because that change or difference captures the change or difference in society that occurred in between, moving from a moment when the internet seemed weird yet full of potential ("do no evil") to a moment where our lives seemed like a sad shell of the past, pushed into the cages of the future, because of the internet ("jesus christ, google invented surveillance capitalism and what's at stake is everything").
