Masterpiece of Americana submitted by EJZ on July 21, 2018, 9:57am This album will move you. Welch and Rawlings have honest voices, and use them in storytelling with beautiful acoustic accompaniment. The songs are simple but the messages are not, and repeated listenings brings ever more enjoyment. Even years after listening, I will cry hearing Annabelle.

A Heartfelt Treasure submitted by kencza on July 5, 2021, 2:10pm Hard to believe it has been 25 years since this release because it never gets old even though these songs are done in the old timey traditional folk/country style. The trio of songs that open "Revival" (Orphan Girl, Annabelle, and Pass you By) are classic Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. They continue to release music to this day that is soulful and tender at times, smart storytelling always, and tremendous instrumentation.
