Mournful but Lovely submitted by Meginator on July 1, 2020, 7:23pm The Civil Wars’ style feels like a (successful) mash-up of folk, country, and singer-songwriter pop, largely acoustic and introspective but never off-putting. Many of the songs on this album have a somewhat mournful underlying vibe, but each track feels full of meaning lurking somewhere between the harmonies and the simple musical arrangements.
