This is not my favorite, the records they put out a couple of years before are that perfect Goldilocks point of raw and refined for them, especially the Harold Budd record, but NEVERTHELESS this is so good. Whatever ethereal qualities are present in the Cranberries first album, or anything by My Bloody Valentine, or really, the entirety of what is referred to as Shoegaze was already in the world and perfected in the Cocteau Twins.
