Wait for the Drop Now submitted by Meginator on August 11, 2021, 4:59pm This album doesn’t showcase Skrillex at the height of his powers, as it’s obvious he’s still trying to find the peculiar grooves best suited to dubstep and similar styles, but it is nonetheless an interesting experiment that sounds utterly different from anything else. The tone is surprisingly aggressive and the music a little formless as a new sound emerges from otherwise disparate tones and traditions. Bangarang is the superior showcase of Skrillex’s skills, but this EP represents a major evolution in electronic music all on its own.
