Fantastic Film submitted by KateTopham on July 11, 2011, 10:10pm This is a great movie-It's funny, oscar winning, moving, everything. The actors are superb, especially Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush, whose depiction of the relationship between the King and his speech therapist makes the movie.

tks submitted by a2sue on July 29, 2013, 6:02am i always enjoy watching colin firth, but this film moved a bit slow for my taste

really excellent submitted by 21621031390949 on August 16, 2016, 9:29pm A very, very well-made movie telling an inside story - historically true - about a British monarch. Colin Firth does a tremendous job making the King both regal and very human. Nice cinematography, too.

Good Historical Biopic submitted by Meginator on July 4, 2017, 7:42pm I didn't know much of anything about the true story behind this movie before watching it, and while I'm sure it has inaccuracies aplenty, I found it to be an enjoyable film. The performances are as good as you would expect (hope for?) in such a highly acclaimed film and the story hums along nicely for a character study. The movie is perhaps a bit Oscar bait-y, but it is emotionally compelling and well executed; it's definitely worth watching if you have an interest in public speaking or in less-known stories of the World War II era.

Clever and interesting submitted by kassafrass on July 26, 2018, 10:41am One of my favorite movies, the dynamic between the actors is excellent, and the main three characters are just great. It's not heavily action driven, but instead almost entirely based on character development, which is something I often enjoy in a film. I also really enjoyed the cinematography of this movie, the use of a lot of wide angle lenses gives it kind of a quirky, unique look.

See submitted by Clown81 on July 27, 2019, 7:41pm I'm looking forward to checking this movie out.

terrific submitted by yufamily on August 24, 2019, 1:20pm Colin Firth gave an outstanding performance

Worth a Second Watch! submitted by gem on August 29, 2019, 6:38am I watched this quite a while ago and checked it out again. The story is well done and highlights the frustrations of those with speech difficulties. It also showed how others respond to those that struggle. One of the strengths of the story is how the main character experienced his ups and downs in his fight to overcome his stuttering. However, because of the the reality of his responsibilities and the encouragement of others, he was able to persevere and overcome.

The King's Speech submitted by crp on August 29, 2019, 2:37pm This is a great movie for it's humour and acting. It won an Oscar as well, and well deservedly so. Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush make this worth watching again.

Stunning submitted by cayluebeck on July 19, 2020, 5:35pm A beautiful movie. Colin Firth does an excellent job of recreating this true story. If you like historical pieces this would be an excellent piece for you.

Brilliant submitted by RebeccaWittekindt on July 15, 2023, 1:28pm Such an engaging story. Firth and Rush have such great chemistry playing off of each other.
