Pleasant Pop-Rock submitted by Meginator on August 29, 2020, 1:49pm These tracks are remarkably consistent, so much so that at times it’s easy to forget that they weren’t all recorded by the same band. The selection surprised me a little bit, and heavily favors the decade’s early years, but the result is a fantastic opportunity for the (re)discovery of lesser-known groups who are just as good as those in frequent rotation on throwback radio stations. Powered by bright chords and lyrics about love, these feel-good songs straddle the line between pop and rock and make for pleasant, undemanding listening perfect for a summer afternoon.
