Grunge Metal submitted by Meginator on August 31, 2019, 11:26pm The Melvins have a unique style that blends the laid-back distortion of grunge with the speed and power of metal, with inconsistent but always intriguing results. Though the core style is relatively similar from track to track, the band throws in wild card elements like horns, electronic effects and instrumentation, and vocal filters to varying degrees of success. Despite all of the experimentation, the music rarely feels aimless and the album is full of surprises even a couple of decades after its creation.
