Didn't capture my imagination submitted by pkooger on June 3, 2011, 8:28am Existential suffering is a hard concept to convey. It's much easier to portray the horribleness of a reanimated corpse. I'm not sure the Hallmark adaptation of Frankenstein does a good job of either of those things. They seem to have focused on the theme of being loved vs. being unloved. This is a hard theme to sell if it isn't done very well, and I was not sold.

One thing I can say for this film is that it follows Mary Shelley's original story very closely. If you're a person who hates it when film adaptations take artistic license with a story, you might appreciate this Frankenstein treatment. Otherwise, just read the book and watch a different version. You'll probably find them both more enjoyable than this film.
