Early Live Stuff submitted by SaraP on July 14, 2019, 10:06am A great look into his live repertoire from the early 60s. This was released, in part, only to protect the copyright, but it's a fun listen none-the-less. Highlights: the hilarious "Talkin' John Birch Paranoid Blues" and the haunting "Ballad of Hollis Brown," a story he pulled directly from a newspaper article.

Nationwide, protest movement had begun mostly small groups on college campuses submitted by ccrose on August 20, 2019, 8:22pm These students who were at this college concert must have felt excited and more determined that they could make a difference. Dylan was a big influence, his songs and his voice probably got them standing on their seats. But more personal songs are coming on. Hollis Brown is one of the most mournful songs I’ve ever heard. It follows a traditional folk story-song style.
