Disintegrate Again submitted by Caser on July 7, 2011, 10:21am For a band whose bread and butter are their singles, Disintegration is the one LP in The Cure's deep catalog that functions best as a complete work.

The opening track sets the landscape, and it's a vast one. Everything is huge on here. The snare hits ring out for 4 bars at least, the keys are overdubbed about a thousand times, and that shimmering percussion rings out long as this slow tempo ballad, Plainsong, takes its time enveloping the listener. I've always been reminded of driving around my hometown in a barely hanging on little Ford Festiva with three best friends packed in the car with me, listening to this song over and over again on one of those long rainy days, where we had nothing better to do than be right here now, together.

This 3xCD edition includes the bonus track rarities for the hardcore fan, as well as a crisp recording of The Cure playing the entire Disintegration album live soon after releasing the record.
