One Piece submitted by ben clingenpeel on June 18, 2012, 7:13pm One Piece is a graphic novel about pirates with extraordinary powers that come from eating mysterious fruits called "Devil Fruits". These fruits give the user different powers depending on what fruit is eaten. No same fruit appears twice as long as the user is still living, for example, Monkey D. Luffy (the protagonist throughout One Piece) ate the "gum-gum fruit" and therefore the gum-gum fruit shall not appear while Luffy is alive. However, two different models of the same fruits may both exist at the same time, for example, the "mutt-mutt fruit". There is the mutt-mutt fruit "dachshund model" (owned by Mr.Four's bazooka) and the mutt-mutt fruit "wolf model" (owned by Jabra of Cipher Pol 9). Hopefully you now understand the concept of Devil Fruits and are ready to move on.
In One Piece there are several different volumes, (that meaning tons of different volumes) and as I believe Eiichiro Oda has said they rack up a rather large amount of money if you buy them all. (Use the library)...(Duh). With all of these different volumes each volume does not tell their own story but tell fragments of an "arc". Arcs are different stories and there are several of them, I will list them here.
East Blue arc
Boroque Works arc
Skypeia arc
Water Seven arc
Sabody arc
Impel Down arc and
Paramount War arc.
I apologize for the fact that this information will soon go out of date as Eiichiro Oda writes more and more One Piece. I will say very little more about One Piece because I want you to read it for yourself and come to enjoy (oops, typo - did I say enjoy? Sorry, What I meant was love and cherish absolutely every single volume) it as I have. (Read it). Read it. READ IT. GO AWAY. STOP READING MY SUCKISH REVIEW AND READ ONE PIECE!

very good start to a very good series submitted by JY 2005 on June 17, 2018, 12:38am Great anime/manga!!

A great series if you don't mind the long ride submitted by i'm a blobfish on June 20, 2018, 7:37pm A great book about a boy named Luffy. Luffy has the power of the Gum gum devil fruit. Devil fruits are power fruits that allow the consumer of that particular fruit to have some sort of special power. The gum gum powers allow Luffy to stretch at will like a rubber band and items like bullets can't hurt him. Set out with him as he gathers the perfect crew and sets out to become the pirate king

Favorite submitted by anacoluthon on July 11, 2018, 1:37pm A great and super funny series! I especially love all the pre-timeskip arcs.

One Piece. Vol. 1, Romance Dawn submitted by Varshini on July 18, 2019, 10:03pm The start of a great pirate adventure! The anime and manga are both great.

This show has come a long way submitted by zshahid19 on July 17, 2022, 2:52pm This is an amazing show, the world-building and storytelling are amazing. Each arc has a great build-up and each time there is a satisfying conclusion. I would recommend this to anyone you like a thought our world in which each character has their own personal fleshed-out backstory.
