Traditional Irish Fiddle submitted by Meginator on August 31, 2019, 10:32pm This album features traditional Irish fiddle tunes ably played by Eileen Ivers and a range of talented background musicians. Her playing is remarkably clear, with an even, boisterous tone and technical skill that doesn’t sacrifice precision for emotion. Ivers adapts well to reels and ballads, infusing emotion into everything she plays, and the song selection offers a nice balance of styles. Some of the tracks feel a little over-produced at times, robbing them of some of the lively spirit that so characterizes Irish music, but overall this is a very solid album, particularly good for someone interested in a broad introduction to the genre.
