COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Bravo! Erudite Performances! submitted by vk on February 2, 2011, 10:00pm This two-DVD set is not for the casual viewer or the multi-tasker! In it, Peter Ackroyd, Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, presides eloquently over a four-part 164-min. exposition of the (1)Architecture, (2)Art, (3)Music, and (4)Theatre of the most memorable city, Venice. Turn on the subtitles to read and appreciate the rich (and to me some new) words he uses to plumb the depths of the Venetian soul. My favorite sequence is the "new" Vivaldi revealed in Episode 3: The City as Music. Bravo!
