COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Classic submitted by pepemama on June 16, 2017, 5:07pm Both a narrative piece on the great depression, and the harrowing story of one families journey, an amazing read and should be enjoyed - even outside of being forced to read it in high school
Why It's Timeless submitted by Steve Amick on July 5, 2021, 2:00pm Steinbeck is someone you can come back to again and again, throughout different points in your life and different points in our country's history, and you'll always find something striking and previously overlooked. You don't have to embrace all of his ideas or love all of his aesthetic or his viewpoint, (or some subjects where he now seems to be under-serving) but passages often offer surprising glimmers of relevance, as well as bits of language and phrasing that stick out as shockingly contemporary, like something you could overhear right now, just opening your window, as someone next door curses and laments the death of his lawnmower.
Classic submitted by TLW1998 on June 22, 2022, 2:09pm A great favorite and classic that everyone should read at least once
