Like Ree this film was wronged. submitted by irenzero on June 18, 2011, 7:33pm Hands down the best film of 2010, from the look, the feel, Jennifer Lawrence, John Hawkes, and the direction, Winter's Bone was and always will be the best film of 2010... if you haven't seen it you are missing out.

Amazing Movie! submitted by pmysore on August 7, 2011, 12:39pm No wonder it was nominated for the oscars! jennifer lawrence's acting was superb and the movie was well directed

stark... submitted by sbaccouc on January 25, 2012, 7:19pm it's hard to believe that people can live like this, but they do

Haunting, really

Wasn't that Impressed submitted by ahenk on July 8, 2013, 3:24pm It was a good movie, but it lacked depth. The way of life for the families should have been explored more instead of being skimmed at the surface. Will not be rewatching.

wb submitted by a2sue on July 25, 2013, 7:15pm great adaptation from a novel

Bleak submitted by markwells on February 15, 2015, 8:55am I suppose it was well done if it was meant to be darkly depressing and invoke a feeling of despair. Maybe I just can't enjoy a story that drags on with little or no spark of hope. Just sayin... Grade C

Down To The Bone submitted by Fevvers - STAR473 on July 11, 2015, 1:11am This is an amazing, riveting, almost hypnotic film that cuts down to the bone of a fractured family and a broken rural community.

Jennifer Lawrence gives a steely, seething performance in Winter's Bone. Her rural teenager low on dialogue and highly self-contained could be seen as an audition for her role as Katniss in The Hunger Games, but Winter's Bone is worth watching for itself.

Great Movie submitted by candyceh811 on July 17, 2015, 5:52pm This was a really great movie, very compelling.

not my style submitted by Jackie77 on August 12, 2015, 11:51pm Too sad and depressing to watch the whole movie. Very dark and dragged in alot of parts. Acting was okay.

Slow and Bleak submitted by toschag on August 2, 2016, 11:04pm Definitely a downer...pretty slow-paced and a little depressing.

Dark submitted by c_zhang on June 29, 2019, 12:58am It was too dark and slow-moving for my taste, but Jennifer Lawrence's performance was spectacular.
