COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Great Grooves submitted by Meginator on August 31, 2019, 10:04pm This vibrant compilation offers a variety of modern African music that blends traditional instrumentation and rhythms with Western influences, with fascinating results. I found it particularly interesting to listen for the similarities and differences among the various musical cultures represented herein and enjoyed the fusion of styles that drives the music. The predominant vibe is an upbeat groove, driven by percussion with melodic accompaniments via various instruments and vocals, almost like an acoustic version of what a lot of electronic music tries to accomplish. This is edifying and entertaining in equal measure.
