Jack is a samurai warrior, whose magical sword is enchanted "with the power of righteousness," who trains his body and his mind to confront Aku. Aku is an evil, shape-shifting wizard who dethroned Jack's emperor father. During their pitched battle, Aku dispatches Jack into the future through a time portal. The solitary warrior's single-minded quest is to find his way back to undo the devastation of Aku's tyrannical rule.

One of the great animated series submitted by severian on July 23, 2021, 2:08pm There wasn't much else like this on tv when it came out -- quiet and contemplative, but with some awesome action scenes and really striking art. It's simple (and a kid's show), but compelling, and it builds a world almost big enough to get lost in. Give it a try!
