COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Thought Provoking submitted by markwells on February 13, 2011, 9:17am This movie had a nice twist but takes some patience. This would be a great video to show to a history class.

No "action" yet cool sci-fi submitted by Michael Flynn on March 1, 2011, 8:00pm Concept driven, cerebral with fewer scene changes than The Big Chill- just eight people talking in a cottage. I skipped the middle half hour.

Thought Experiment Performed submitted by CasualTim on August 20, 2011, 2:39pm As previous reviewers note, an impatient viewer won't appreciate what this film has to offer. I don't see any way Bixby (on his deathbed at the time) didn't have the stage in mind as he wrote "The Man From Earth." Like "The Sunset Limited," you've got people, in a room, hashing out ideas. You've got a very basic concept and the impressive exercise of making it as believable as what we think we 'know.' And you've got a very, very stage-like ending.

I was worried I'd get bored on the second viewing, but with enough time in between, I didn't. It's fun to watch the idea presented be tested - despite some slightly overdone reactions by the characters. It's both mystery and science experiment.

Unearthed gem submitted by eapen.binu on January 10, 2012, 3:11pm This movie is a classic example of how you don't need special effects,CGI and hollywood stars to make a good sci-fi movie. Well written and executed. The entire movie like the 12 angry men is pretty much shot within the confines of a room.
