Edward and Alphonse Elric's reckless disregard for alchemy's fundamental laws ripped half of Ed's limbs from his body and left Al's soul clinging to a cold suit of armor. To restore what was lost, the brothers scour a war-torn land for the Philosopher's Stone, a fabled relic which grants the ability to perform alchemy in impossible ways.

Equivalent Exchange - Alchemy Unleashed! submitted by Dragonessa on December 17, 2010, 10:06pm This is probably one of the finest anime series I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Every detail follows the manga and it is so great to see those manga exclusive characters brought to life! The animation is also crisper and the colors brighter and more vivid than in the first series anime. Also the characters have been redesigned slightly to better fit their manga counterparts and look amazing. I have been watching this series religiously on Cartoon Network but I just had to rent the DVD to watch it more thoroughly and absorb every plot detail. All in all, this is a great anime series and I can't wait for more episodes to be released! :D

Title?! submitted by laughterxatxdawn on July 27, 2012, 9:19pm This anime series is much closer to the original manga, so I reccommend reading that before. Also, the animation is much crisper and a lot better than the first series.

Brilliant! submitted by mellonir on September 30, 2012, 1:42pm Even missing the third part of this series, it is fantastic! Well done!

Comparison to Manga submitted by Bookbird on June 13, 2015, 7:35pm For those who are watching this after reading the manga, it doesn't look like it follows the plot at first. You get a different start to the series with a different character causing trouble (Yoki's corruption reveal is only mentioned briefly before the Sewing-Life part). Some characters are also introduced (or at least you get a glimpse of them) early. After awhile it settles and you see the manga storyline being followed instead of what happened . What surprised me was Envy's Japanese voice actor, whom you would recognize from the Japanese voiced Detective Conan. I would recommend this version since I prefer anime that follows the manga storyline.

good submitted by i'm a blobfish on July 8, 2018, 5:41pm A great series featuring 2 brothers, one is missing his body, and the other is missing an arm and a leg. together they work together to get the brother without a body his body back. If you like this series, you will like the anime too. Its really funny too!
