In a quiet, isolated village in olde Pennsylvania, there lies a pact between the people of the village and the creatures who reside in the surrounding woods. The townspeople do not enter the woods, and the creatures do not enter the village. The pact stays in tact for many years, that is until the headstrong Lucius Hunt seeks medical supplies from neighboring towns beyond the woods. Animal carcasses begin to appear around the village, causing the elders to fear for the safety of the village, the sanctity of the pact, and so much more.
DVD ; Widescreen ; Dolby Digital 5.1 surround, THX-certified.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Underrated submitted by markwells on August 5, 2011, 3:36pm Although it didn't get much critical acclaim, I thought this was a fun little movie with a nice twist. One of Mr. Shyamalan's better efforts.

The Village submitted by SBNB on July 10, 2012, 11:12am The Village was really a disappointment. It’s also a movie that you’ll only want to see once unless you forget most of the details.

the village submitted by a2sue on August 19, 2013, 12:35pm i enjoyed this film. in particular, bryce dallas howard as ivy really shines. i think it was her first film and i'd definitely like to see her in more. just an fyi, she's ron howard's daughter...

Good movie submitted by steveiew on August 19, 2015, 9:04am It is a bit strange at first but as things come to light it gets more interesting.

Hmm submitted by anacoluthon on August 20, 2018, 2:20am It was alright, but the plot is strikingly similar to a junior fiction book I read as a kid...

Great movie submitted by Harlowamy on August 30, 2020, 8:56pm Unique story interesting film.

Interesting submitted by nmrhoads on July 22, 2021, 10:32pm I liked this. It was suspenseful and twisty
