COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Liam submitted by johnnyringo on July 1, 2013, 3:34pm Young boy growing up in Liverpool in the 1930s, great acting

great atmosphere and setting submitted by mandevil on February 22, 2017, 11:52am really brings the era into focus, however, given the slow pace of most of the film the end seems very rushed

phony-boloney pretend retro BBC B-Movie submitted by Tassos on March 13, 2022, 12:03pm It really disgusts me when BBC makes those lame movies that pretend to be retro by using photography to create unrealistic images, such as utter lack of light (even electric lights) at a time (1930s) when they sure were already mature. Irish sterotypes sickening. A stupid, worthless movie where nothing of consequence ever happens. Even if this were realistic, why bother to make a damned movie out of this uninteresting crap? Sickening Oh, and I thought that the GOD DAMNED VIOLINS were a thing of the 40s or before, (as used in lame movies, the god-damned socalled "musical score" that are more irritating than ELEvator MUZAK), but BBC has resurrected them, at the expense of our ears... Overall, IT SUCKS. Try to watch a REAL Movie instead, and not a GOD DAMNED MADE FOR TV low budget CRAP like BBC movies.
