Two twenty-somthing stoner roommates, one a Korean-American investment banker, Harold and the other, an Indian-American medical school candidate, Kumar, go through a life changing journey. They are on a quest to satisfy their cravings for burgers and spend the night roaming the state of New Jersey in search of White Castle hamburgers running into one screwy obstacle after another.

The Odyssey submitted by CasualTim on October 28, 2010, 4:21pm It's easy to underestimate this movie, considering its humor claims to be of the really overdone 'stoner' variety, and its title is a fast-food advertisement. However, Harold and Kumar are more than stoners, and the goal is bigger than a burger. I see H+K as modern-day Odysseuses (Odysseae?), encountering a seemingly unending set of trials and tribulations that are much larger than life. Only their determination and complete acceptance of their fates keeps them alive and, in however roundabout a way, getting closer to their Penelopes (which in this case just happen to be 30 sliders, 5 french fries, and 4 large cokes). Great fun.

The New Cheech & Chong! submitted by mellonir on December 8, 2019, 4:26am Since Cheech and Chong don't work together anymore (don't know why, since this era of legalization provides a great opportunity and potential), these two make the perfect substitute. This movie is a stoners delight (if you forget the cheetah scene)! Christopher Meloni provides a hilarious character. Funny!
