Still my favorite TV show submitted by CasualTim on November 2, 2010, 5:46pm I've never seen a show that gets so much done in 23 minutes. When each episode ends, I think about the emotional investment experienced, the excellent dialogue, how far the story has moved, and feel like the show must have been a full hour long. Usually, I'm so enveloped in the plot that I do indeed end up watching several episodes (for an hour or more) at a time.

I've only seen some of West Wing, and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was slow to get off the ground (but highly underrated), but this still rings as Sorkin's best work to date. It's tight, it's fast, and it's the whole hog.

To clarify, Sports Night is a show about people who happen to work in sports news. It is drama, relationships, tests of human resilience and fortitude, and wit. No need to care about sports.

And don't worry, they ditch the laugh track in Season 2.
