Trent, an outsider who mows lawns, quietly observes the infidelities and hypocrisies that abound in the affluent, gated community of Camelot Gardens--bored wives sleeping around while their husbands try to climb the social ladder. When a 10-year-old girl from one family forges a friendship with Trent, things suddenly become very complicated.

a different drummer kind of flick submitted by manz on January 18, 2011, 6:57pm This is one of those slow-paced indie films that you like but want to dislike, or you dislike it but want to like it. And like it i did.

The adorable 10 year old Devon was a joy. Precocious and darling, she's the kind of kid I like to see in movies. Kids on the outskirts, beating to the tune of a different drummer.

She forms an endearing friendship with 21 year old Trent, which of course stirs things up once the adults find out. I really enjoyed the youthful interactions between Trent and Devon (Devon and Trent.) It seemed very natural and effortless on the part of both characters. I didn't expect the ending, but it was a good one, very touching and bit of magic realism.
