Better than the First submitted by Ryan Burdick on June 28, 2011, 10:24am Okay, I love the first Maus because it introduced the jewish view of WWII through the graphic novel medium, but I actually enjoyed the sequel more for two main reasons:

1) More characters! There are more than just cat and mice here people, we get to see the French, Americans & a few other interesting characters.

2) The author brings himself into a section and you really get to see his struggle with the story. Plus, I love how he is wearing a mice mask.

more Maus submitted by camelsamba on July 20, 2017, 10:04pm This is a very strong story, and a good follow-up to the ground-breaking Maus. Spiegelmam's graphic style changed from book 1 to 2. From my perspective I would call it an improvement, but I recognize that such a reaction is personal.

Great Graphic Novel submitted by dmacorkindale on June 18, 2019, 2:55pm So I read this in school as a standalone piece and I really think it is great as one as well as read in the series order. The graphics were stunning and visually engaging and you could really "read" the pictures as well.

The art and narration blend wonderfully to tell a more complete tale than either could do on its own. Of course you should read this.
