COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Sad to see the glaciers (and maybe even the wolverines) disappear submitted by vk on January 19, 2011, 8:52pm In the summer of 2007, a huge 23-acre chunk of Blackfoot Glacier collapsed and cascaded down the mountain as an ice avalanche. This DVD chronicles the work of ecologist Dan Fagre and colleagues to monitor changes in the Park's ecosystems and whether the Blackfoot collapse is signaling the Park's accelerated warming. May 2010 marks the Park's centennial; now it seems possible that its glaciers may not last past its 110th birthday.

Don't miss Scene 6 on Threatened Species, which features the Park's grizzly bears scratching on the tree (as comical as Disney) and the Park's ~40 wolverines (densest in U.S.) and their fast disappearing snow dens.
