Heavy on the Ballads submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2020, 6:41pm Brad Paisley is a pretty good songwriter, but this album leans too heavily on ballads with little to distinguish one from another. The result is a rather one-note listening experience that is perfectly pleasant but hardly memorable apart from the few tracks that pick up the tempo. Paisley is a charming performer with strong vocals and a good ear for melody, and when he’s at his best he is undeniably excellent, but I heard too little variation in this album to be able to get into it.
