COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Jam jam jam jam submitted by Caser on August 23, 2011, 4:42pm If you've ever wanted your Elvis Costello with a few more shots of The Clash in it, and you haven't heard much music from the Jam, then give All Mod Cons a few spins. Weller's acerbic tongue and ear for catchy pop hooks are at their most incisive on this album, while his bandmates, Foxton, and most jarringly, Buckler, kill it in the rhythm section. The inclusion of the practically note for note cover of Kinks' David Watts is an obvious nod to Ray Davies' influence on Weller here, which is highly welcome.

Put big stars next to the songs, All Mod Cons, To Be Someone, Billy Hunt, A Bomb in Wardour Street, and Down in the Tube Station at Midnight as Jam classics from this 1978 release.
