COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Powerfully good! submitted by LVDS on July 15, 2018, 10:27am A beautiful and sad family story told from the daughter's perspective. The tough & fun loving times growing up with an alcoholic & 'homeless' dad and artistic mom.

Depressing submitted by lstorc on August 29, 2018, 8:45pm While there are definitely points that are touching and comical, this was the depressing film. It was painful to watch such an abusive situation.

REally hard to watch... did not even finish it yesterday. submitted by Tassos on February 9, 2019, 11:06am A preposterous script, actors that act bad, the works. No wonder. the lead actress is a 29 year old whose parents were both charlatans... oops. homeopathic 'doctors'... lol... where else? In CA... no wonder.

Disappointing submitted by Maria Maguire on June 30, 2019, 2:16pm I had read the book The Glass Castle, and was excited to see how the movie would turn out. I was a little disappointed. I felt as thought the book showed that the children had mixed feelings about their father, who could sometimes be a fun, loving dad but other times an abusive alcoholic. In the movie, I felt as though it were oversimplified and almost betrayed her father in a too generous way.

Intense submitted by mandevil on April 15, 2021, 11:28am Apparently a true story. Looked like a very abusive family situation.
