COMMUNITY REVIEWS

REM goes rock submitted by Richard Lee Pierre on August 18, 2019, 10:38am This is their hardest rocking album. There’s even a guest appearance from Thurston Moore. One of there best songs is here — “What’s the Frequency Kenneth?” — along with some sweetness— “Strange Currencies “ — and other gems.

Monster submitted by jibkidder on July 24, 2022, 9:00am On this one these superstars veer a bit, but not much, toward hip territory - the inclusion of Thurston, a song about Cobain, some novel distortion effects. But their hippest presence is still the echo of influence from their earliest work - at this point in their career, they are possibly just too big to be edgy.

Lucky #9 submitted by delenich on July 4, 2023, 11:33am The ninth studio album by rock band R.E.M., released in 1994. The album marked a departure from the band's previous sound, incorporating a more aggressive and distorted guitar-driven sound. It features tracks like "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?," "Crush with Eyeliner," and "Strange Currencies."

Core Grunge submitted by robinpollak on July 29, 2023, 10:54am This album really evokes the 90's grunge rock feel and brings me back to the time of Nirvana and distorted synth vibes. Classics like What's the Frequency Kenneth and Strange Currencies stand out. This will be a part of my collection for a long time to come.

Forgotten gem submitted by berkleya on August 8, 2023, 12:34pm Forgot all about this one until Strange Currencies was featured so poingnantly on THE BEAR!
