Nevermind grows up submitted by EJZ on August 3, 2018, 8:27pm This is MTV's Unplugged at its very best. The recordings are legendary for a reason, and the covers , like the Meat Puppets' Plateau, are fantastic.

MTV Unplugged in New York -- Nirvana on cd submitted by a2sue on July 21, 2019, 1:05pm The cd featuring Nirvana, MTV Unplugged in New York, was awesome! Come As You Are was my fave track.

MTV Unplugged in New York submitted by tisaallen on June 19, 2022, 12:39pm As well as featuring acoustic versions of their own songs, Nirvana took the opportunity to showcase their influences with covers of Leadbelly, David Bowie, The Vaselines and 3 by the Meat Puppets, whose members Chris and Curt Kirkwood make guest appearances. The originals tend toward their softer songs rather than adapting heavier songs to the acoustic style and are less memorable. Lori Goldston's cello adds a classy feel to the bands raw acoustic style.

I remember.. submitted by jibkidder on June 23, 2022, 6:48pm I remember the night this first aired... we watched MTV all the time back then, sometimes we'd watch The Box. Left the screen pretty satisfied with a lot of questions about these early Meat Puppets songs, though we knew "Backwater" from the pre-Clear Channel "Modern Rock" format station.

Stripped Down and Raw; Powerful Stuff submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 6:54pm This is one of the best live albums of all time, stripping Nirvana of their typical reliance on heavy distortion and presenting a different perspective on their incredible compositional skills and musical talent. Kurt Cobain’s strained vocals effectively take the place of the guitar effects, carrying the songs’ raw emotions to the forefront and standing out against the acoustic instrumental background. The focus on deep cuts and cover songs adds another element of depth to the performance that fits into the band’s anti-pop ethos. Coming so soon before Kurt Cobain’s death by suicide, it remains a powerful testament to his raw talent and the depth with which he channeld his emotions into his music.
