A young Peter Parker, who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May, under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark. Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine, distracted by thoughts of proving himself.

Funny submitted by gxtan on August 24, 2018, 9:49am After taking us through genetic experiments, war, arms dealers, evil villains, aliens, and more, Marvel's Spider-Man reboot brings us back to . . . high school. It's funny, and a little lighter and closer to real life than most of Marvel's other offerings. Peter's far from the polished and well-trained superhero the other Avengers seem to be, but it ends up making him all the more likeable.

Tons of Fun submitted by kelmu on August 26, 2018, 4:12pm While most of the other movies in the MCU focus on world-ending conflicts, Homecoming looks at the smaller picture: the effects of the first Avengers movie on New York's crime scene, and Spider-man's efforts to deal with it. That said, you don't need to see any other movies to understand this one. On top of that, Peter Parker's high school troubles are funny and VERY familiar (without being uncomfortable). It's refreshing, fun, and definitely worth the time to watch.

I Get By with a Little Help from My Iron Man submitted by Meginator on June 19, 2019, 9:27pm One of the best aspects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the creators’ ability to tailor each film to its characters, and this story suits Peter Parker perfectly. Tom Holland does an excellent job of portraying a teenager, surrounded by an excellent supporting cast. The filmmakers don’t go too big here, allowing Spider-Man time to breathe in his own new normal, and the story and character development feel incredibly natural as a result. Though it’s great to see crossover with other MCU films, I was disappointed that Iron Man was such a huge presence in this film; I understand why he’s there, but Robert Downey, Jr., has a tendency to steal the show in a way that does a great disservice to this film’s core characters. Nonetheless, this is both a great Spider-Man film and a great tie-in to the greater MCU, a film that does right by the character and provides an excellent moviegoing experience in the process.
