COMMUNITY REVIEWS

When You Think Motown, This Is Not What You Think Of submitted by John J. Madonna on January 14, 2008, 4:34pm At least on the first CD, there are still some Detroit tracks and maybe a few non-Detroit tracks that are enjoyable if not complete must-haves. But the rest of this compilation, detailing Motown's demise from the most powerful independent label of 60s to just another LA label. I've never pulled punches when it comes to Berry Gordy or post-Detroit Motown, and I won't here. A lot of the 80s material is downright embarrassing to be on this once prestigious label. And if Boyz II Men is your thing, but you don't need this collection to satisfy that itch.
