Outdated. Unhelpful at best, damaging at worst. submitted by mstrasma on July 6, 2015, 1:04pm When we watched this, I was struck by the lack of real solutions offered by the trainer. He shows, repeatedly, that he can make dogs fear him (not a good start), but not how to win their happy cooperation, nor does he show their owners any practical things they can try at home. When I raised it with our local trainer, she pointed me to more recent research that shows this "be alpha in your pack" approach to be bad, old science, and widely discredited among professional trainers. It would be well to remove this from the library collection to make room for training videos based on current, non-punitive, positive methods that are much more effective.
