Although I Hate Modern Day Flaming Lips submitted by jibkidder on June 19, 2022, 9:58pm I like this era alright. Good psychedelic "college" music; not as good as actual pros like Jane's Addiction, or as cool as The Meat Puppets, but good enough. In the late 90s, as they started to get way more famous, and then on to the present where they are, Jesus, for what reason, celebrities (I'd say it's only because of branding), they started to have a stupid sort of self regard and also seem way less stoned and more like children's music. Like they started to sound more like They Might Be Giants or something.
