Great submitted by DL on July 4, 2017, 5:39pm Love this movie, great dancing, music and acting.

Another classic! submitted by Xris on July 6, 2018, 6:11pm This is another classic that you should show your adult children. :)

Eh submitted by lstorc on August 27, 2018, 4:55pm The treatment of women in this film is sickening. The romance is largely unbelievable. The dancing is fun.

Meh submitted by EJZ on June 16, 2019, 8:39am It really does not hold up at all from the time it was made in the 80's - the derogatory treatment of women, the vapid main character, the unbelievable growth of talent she has over the course of like a week? Imagine someone filling in for a pianist with like a week to learn how to play - she'd be lucky to play "Hot Cross Buns," but in Dirty Dancing she does the equivalent of playing "Clair de Lune."

Speaking of Hot Cross Buns, Swayze wastes no time using his hottest of cross buns to boogie around the screen, and almost every scene has some hip-thrustin' action. Much of it is not dancing, more like grinding.

Anyway, at least you learn a bit about the Borscht Belt - the Jewish tradition of vacation trips to the Catskills that died out in the 1970s. Though if you're interested in that at all, you'd be better off watching Season 2 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
