COMMUNITY REVIEWS

A Must See submitted by mbruno on July 5, 2017, 5:40pm This documentary was a much needed, imaginative portrayal of James Baldwin's commentary on American life. My expectations were not high because the novel it is based on is only 30 pages, it was a documentary, and, having read all his (Baldwins) works, as layered as they are, such a movie posed a tremendous challenge. It was impressively met, (as the commentary from the director explains), given the support of Baldwin's estate and the creative filmmaker's access to everything Baldwin did - published and unpublished. The film captured Baldwin's vision, unique life experience in one of the most inspiring chapters of our country's history, and also posed its own challenge to the viewer, which I would hope every person would take time to reflect and act upon. Regardless of a anyone's view on race, history, religion, or politics, the call to face reality and assume responsibility is a refreshing and welcome perspective I pray is contagious.

Don't be racist submitted by Will O on August 26, 2020, 9:33am A must watch no matter how woke a white person you are. It'll make you think, it'll make you angry and it'll make you question not whether you're a part of the problem (you are) but how to become a part of the solution.
