Own Voices submitted by Meginator on June 17, 2017, 6:52pm This is an important own voices documentary that centers transgender individuals and allows them to tell their stories in their own words. I was pleased that the documentary included MTF, FTM, bigender, and two-spirit people, representing some, but certainly not all, types of trans experiences (notably focusing on positive outcomes and including few people of color). Some of the camera work was a bit objectifying, perhaps to highlight the physical aspects of transitioning (which all of the interviewees discussed); YMMV on whether it seems appropriate here. I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about these people and their experiences.
