Good Fun submitted by Meginator on June 19, 2017, 3:42pm I enjoyed this movie, although I think it might have a little bit of trouble finding an audience. Several of the central jokes and themes seemed to aim for a slightly older audience than the marketing suggested (more than just the typical instances of adult humor baked into a kid-friendly production). I had a little bit of trouble really relating to Buster, and thought that the musical numbers may have fared better in shorter montages. Each of the contestants and the rest of the supporting cast was very sympathetic and excellently portrayed. Nothing here is groundbreaking, but it really doesn't have to be; the animation is fine and the movie has a big heart. The voice cast is absolutely fantastic both in speaking and singing and the mini-movies are worth watching if you check out the DVD. This isn't a movie I would return to by myself, but if you think you will enjoy this movie, based on the premise and the previews, then it's certainly worth a couple of hours of your time.

All the characters are very strong, with their own motivations and backstories. I wasn't completely happy with the ending, but otherwise, an excellent movie.

During the auditions, we meet many talented animals that are struggling with something in their lives. Singing helps these animals to find confidence. Although the message is good, it is pretty cliche.
