In a sleepy lagoon off the coast of Japan is a highly guarded secret. During the night, Taiji fishermen engage in an unseen hunt for thousands of dolphins. The work is so horrifying, the fishermen will stop at nothing to keep it hidden from the outside world. When a team of elite activists, filmmakers, and free-divers embark on a secret mission to penetrate their cover, the shocking discoveries they find there are just the tip of the iceberg. Includes commentary, deleted scenes, and more.

heart breaking submitted by Sierra B on August 23, 2012, 9:25pm This movie will open your eyes. You need tissues because you will cry.

Still Impacts Me submitted by ssmyth on July 3, 2015, 2:33am I saw this documentary about five years ago and it still impacts me and my thinking. A few months ago my husband and I were discussing what is the movie that has most 'memorable' in that it really impacted you and your beliefs. Without hesitating my husband said 'The Cove'. It is heartbreaking, but it really opens your eyes to the true cost of using marine mammals, specifically dolphins, for our entertainment. I encourage you to watch it and see how it impacts you.
