Better than the Matrix itself! submitted by Daniel Saltzman on January 4, 2010, 11:58am This collection of independent works revolving around the Matrix universe answers many of the questions left after seeing the live-action movies. The greatest of these shorts, The Second Renaissance (split into 2 parts), finally tells us the story of how the Matrix came to be, while also giving us an Asimovian-style look into our own psyche. Overall, the Animatrix is an absolute MUST for any fan of the Matrix series.

Definitely a must see if you are a fan of the Matrix submitted by valjean on August 28, 2018, 1:54am This builds up the world behind the Matrix through a series of vignettes set in both sides of the Matrix. It helps to clarify some decisions and reasons for the way the Matrix world is set up, while showcasing lots of amazing lookkng animation styles, all very different. Definitely find this somehow!
