Timeless submitted by crp on August 12, 2019, 8:53am You can watch this movie several years after it’s making and still enjoy it. It’s funny even thought it has several gendered stereotypes (some of which get debunked) and the archetypical characters are comedic.

Funny and Inspiring - What Else Could You Want? submitted by ekalish92 on July 18, 2023, 9:39pm While on the surface this could be considered a lighthearted romcom, Elle Woods (expertly played by Reese Witherspoon) is actually incredibly inspiring. Without ruining the plot, I think it is safe to say that Elle is regularly underestimated but that doesn't stop her from pursuing greatness (and with a generally positive attitude!).

Not only is this a fun movie but it can certainly inspire and motivate - and is insanely quotable!

Suspend disbelief that Elle Woods only wants to get into Harvard to win her boyfriend back. After a few study sessions, she's smart enough to get in, in all her pink glory. This movie is a lot of fun until Elle's male law professor makes a pass at her—a law student—and her reaction is to leave school. She's packed to leave until a female law professor tells Elle that she should stay, and that's just the way men behave. Watching this in 2023 shows how much has changed since they released this movie. Yet, the acting is fun, the story is light-hearted, and seeing the mores of yesteryear is eye-opening. If you don't find the attitudes triggering, can be a fun watch.
