Special features: Mike Judge's secret recipe: the ingredients for a classic Mike Judge film.
Jason Bateman, Mila Kunis, Kristen Wiig, J.K. Simmons, David Koechner, Clifton Collins, Jr., Ben Affleck.
Joel is the owner of an extract manufacturing plant who constantly finds himself in precarious situations that steadily worsen by the minute. First, his soon-to-be floor manager acquires a serious injury in a machine malfunctioning accident. This subsequently endangers the wellbeing of his company. Second, his personal life doesn't fair much better when he takes his bartending friend Dean's advice while in a drug-induced brainstorming session on how to test his wife's faithfulness. Finally, compounding these catastrophes is Cindy, his new employee, who happens to be a scam artist intent on milking the company for all its worth. Now, Joel must attempt to piece his company and his marriage back together all while trying to figure out what he's really after in life.
DVD, region 1, widescreen (1.85:1, enhanced); Dolby Digital 5.1 surround.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Disappointingly unoriginal submitted by CasualTim on February 21, 2010, 12:34pm Don't let the association with the classic Office Space fool you into thinking there's anything special or entertaining here. With a script that might've been created by a computer program, every step of the plot is obvious a half hour before it happens in the movie (and I'm the guy who can NEVER figure out who the killer is). The characters are thinner than paper... and that paper is the physically impossible one-sided variety.

On a more positive note, it was good to see Affleck in another ditzy bartender role (a la 200 Cigarettes ). He did it better in the earlier film, but for some mysterious reason he seems particularly suited to play that role. If you take my advice and *don't* check out this film, it's at least worth finding a still of Affleck - and his hair - from this movie.

Needs more Kristen Wiig submitted by pkooger on September 7, 2012, 4:05pm I think my title says it all. Any movie that has Kristen Wiig but hardly uses her comedic talents is fundamentally flawed. To be fair, she had some great moments in Extract, but not enough. Also, everyone in this film is a terrible human being. If you think that kind of thing is hilarious you'll probably find a few chuckles in Extract.

terrible submitted by Jackie77 on August 13, 2015, 11:16pm This movie was lacking in alot...character development, humor, plot that follows through. Kristen had zero comedy in this movie. The supporting actors were terrible. You could tell they were doing just that...acting. Ason was the only good parts of the movie.
