Only a few years later, British authorities ignorant of his contributions convicted him for the crime of homosexuality, significantly contributing to shortening his life.

Portrait of Alan Turing submitted by wendylv on June 18, 2015, 9:30pm This is an extremely well-done movie. The cast is fabulous and the story is intriguing. As with almost all historical movies, I was wondering how true the story was and which facts had been hollywood-ized. Why do producers have to do that?! Just stay true to the facts. Did Winston Churchill really write to Alan Turing? I think that was an embellishment of the filmakers. I also wanted to know more details about the enigma machine. But this movie is not really about WWII code-breakers. It's about the persecution of a war hero for being homosexual, a sad story the world should know more about.
