Lovely movie! submitted by bookher on June 25, 2017, 12:19pm This movie portrayed the characters from the book exactly as I had pictured them when reading the book. Though, as is normally the case, the movie left out some story lines from the book that I thought made the book such a rich and intriguing read. Highly reccomended! My book club also read this book and it was one of the highest rated selected books in a long time.

Surprisingly touching submitted by mmckenzie on June 25, 2017, 3:10pm Strange, but well done. Sweet.

Nice submitted by yenkong on June 28, 2017, 8:31pm Quite nice, Not bad at all.

A decent representation of the book submitted by Lea on June 28, 2017, 9:19pm Charming movie. Does the book justice, well cast, and pulls at your heartstrings. Worth watching!

Touching storyline submitted by kathleen824 on August 18, 2017, 9:21am The movie was heartfelt and touching. Now, I need to read the book.

Dare I say? submitted by markwells on July 8, 2018, 2:09pm In highly unusual fashion this movie is quite possibly better than the book. Why you say? Because it brings to life in vivid color his late wife and her glowing personality. You really understand the depth of the man's grief when you see the loved one he lost. Grade A.

A Man Called Ove submitted by lstorc on July 29, 2019, 12:02am A Man Called Ove is a triumph! Ove is a lovable, cranky, bitter, old man. The relationships he has with his neighbors are highly entertaining! Strong recommendation

excellent movie submitted by yufamily on August 3, 2019, 9:32pm What a treat! a must see DVD.

A man Called Ove submitted by Varshini on August 7, 2019, 10:08pm I watched this after reading the book, and it's great. I might even like the movie version of A Man Called Ove better than the book.

Sadness/Joy/Drama/Humor submitted by kencza on August 8, 2019, 9:03pm Ove is your elderly uncle who lost his loved one some time ago and is the defacto neighborhood grouch. He is isolated and lonely but new neighbors spark a light in him at that sets the scene for new energy. I really enjoyed the ride and recommend this fine movie to all.

A GREAT, MUST SEE MOVIE. Better than the excellent 2022 US version with Tom Hanks. BORROW THIS DVD and see it, all!!! submitted by Tassos on March 20, 2023, 2:11pm I read the excellent book on which this movie is based, in English, a few years ago.

Then last week I saw the excellent 2022 US film version with Tom Hanks.

But I guessed that the Swedish original would be even better.

So I put in a request to borrow that one, and watched it today.

This is the real thing, and it is indeed much better and more authentic than the Tom Hanks version.

If you read this, you probably borrowed it too. Enjoy!

Also, don't let your friends miss this, tell them to watch it too!
